We believe solo travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and solo travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.

Is travel insurance required for my trip?

Travel insurance is compulsory in order to participate on any of our trips. When travelling on a group trip, you will not be permitted to join the group until evidence of travel insurance has been sighted by your leader, who will take note of your insurance details. When selecting a travel insurance policy we require that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation. A minimum coverage of USD200,000 is required. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. Some tours include adventure activities that require extra coverage (e.g. crampon use); please review your itinerary and make sure that you are covered for all included activities. If you have credit card insurance we require proof of purchase of the trip (a receipt of credit card statement) with a credit card in your name. Contact your bank for details of their participating insurer, the level of coverage and emergency contact telephone number.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome to Madrid

The Metropolitano can wait until tomorrow. Tonight, Madrid shows you where Atlético's story really lives. After being met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, your CEO is on hand with the inside knowledge on where to go before the trip really begins. Take the afternoon to settle in at your own pace, then join your CEO for a walk to Fuente de Neptuno, where fans have gathered to celebrate famous wins for generations. From there, wind through the football bars of the city centre — there’s no better way to kick off your trip.

  2. Matchday at the Metropolitano

Matchday is here and Atlético don't do it quietly. Your VIP experience begins with access to an exclusive lounge — complimentary hot and cold food, beer, wine and soft drinks in a relaxed premium setting. When it's time, take your seat and feel the full force of one of Spain's loudest fanbases. A behind-the-scenes stadium tour rounds out the day, on matchday or another day depending on kick-off. Football, unapologetically loud. Depending on kick-off time, your stadium tour may be included on this day. If that's not possible, don’t worry — it’ll be moved to another part of your football trip.

  3. Football the local way

Yesterday: ninety unapologetically electric minutes. Today: a Spanish league match that's raw, close, and impossible not to get swept up in, with the football fast and the chants never stopping. Afterwards, your CEO gathers the group at a local football bar to catch La Liga fixtures alongside Madrid supporters.

  4. Madrid, off the pitch

Boots off, appetite on — a private walking food tour through Madrid's Old Town and Literary Quarter awaits. Tapas, regional specialties and a stop for chocolate and churros (obviously), with stories behind every bite along the way. The rest of the day's yours: wander back to a favourite spot, or ease into an optional farewell dinner with your group and CEO, swapping stories from the week.

  5. Departure day

One last breakfast, then Madrid lets you go — for now.
